2016 Floral Craft Workshops being held in Kingskerswell, Newton Abbot, Devon.

Let the experts show you how to make lovely  Bridal flowers and decorations for your big day...

                                 

Love the idea of making your own gorgeous wedding flowers and finishing touches for your wedding but aren’t sure where to start? Well, Love to be Green Flower School has come to the rescue of all have-a-go brides with their clever, new Handmade Wedding Workshops.

Taught by Susan Hodges, Florist and former Floristry Lecturer at Newton Abbot Adult & Community Learning Centre, you’ll be taken through simple step-by-step instructions to help you make gorgeous wedding flowers and decorations to impress your guests.

Workshops are kept small  from 6 up to total of 9 crafters at a time and the things you make are yours to take home. Why not bring Mum, Aunts and Friends/Bridesmaids along for a day of girly bonding?

Sessions are designed for Beginners and those with previous floristry experience.

We will give step by step instructions for creating your Christmas decoration and top you up with complimentary Festive Morning Tea/Coffee and mince pies whilst you are unleashing your creative skills.

Each session includes Seasonal foliage and Luxurious flowers teamed with the qualified skills of your experienced Floristry Tutor and Florist.Tools are also provided for use in class if required.

We are holding the workshops in the Parish Centre (Coffee Room) opposite St. Mary’s Church in Kingskerswell,lots of FREE parking here!

This bouquet photo is a guide. The finished 'look' will depend on your own brooches which you choose to incorporate together with our materials.

Bring along your own brooches and we will supply the ivory artificial silk flowers, bead clusters,wires,mechanics and ribbon relevant to each session. Your Tutor will guide you from start to finish demonstrating wiring techniques for each component to making up the main bouquet frame. Bouquet will be dressed with a delicate net edging and stems finished with a bead/ribbon binding.

Also includes light refreshments.

Fee: £60-00  for 3 x 2 hour sessions

'Dutch' Hand Tied Gift Bouquet! Suitable for Beginners /Improvers

Tutor Demonstration and Learner Practical 

Learn the construction of this very popular bouquet .You will be introduced to which flowers and foliage to use, spiralling stems, how to distribute the flowers and foliage evenly, you will explore the techniques of professional bouquet wrapping and  how to complete your work with a beautiful bow.
Your finished bouquet will then be ready for presentation to someone special or you may choose to reward yourself and  proudly place in your own vase at home.

1st Session February 21st-Traditional and Contemporary---Beautiful Buttonholes & Corsages
2nd Session Feb.28th- Bridal Bouquet Making Tutorial --with all the trimmings includes  stems finished with ribbon technique- 'French braiding'.
3rd  session March 7th-Table Arrangement & Place Settings

Create fun jewellery bases using decorative wire manipulation. Incorporating beads and Finish with fresh delicate blooms resulting in floral pieces you will be proud to wear. Can re-use bases for your PROMS!!!

A planted gift design incorporating growing plants as a focal point AND fresh flower stems also. The arrangement is displayed within a suitable container.

Fold it, Weave it, Bend it Roll it !!! Suitable for Beginners / Improvers
A bright, bold Contemporary table design incorporating foliage manipulation

includes 2 demonstrations, Qualified Tutor guidance and support throughout the session, ALL materials for practical session and  light refreshments. 

Saturday June 13th -10am -2.30pm Kingskerswell
Dutch Master Summer Table Arrangement. Suitable for Beginners / Improvers
Popular floral 'look' for 2015. The style of this is reminiscent of a Dutch still life painting.The day will start by looking at the work of some 'Dutch Masters' to see what makes the floral display on the paintings so intriguing.
Immerse yourself within the ambience of this unique workshop. Here we have a romantic, soft, natural look to this beautiful table design which will be created using showy blooms and delicate weeping branches discreetly hiding a butterfly or two. Small fruits will also be incorporated within the design.Container will be provided. 
Workshop Fee: £35-00 includes 2 demonstrations, Qualified Tutor guidance and support throughout the session, ALL materials for practical session and  light refreshments.

Classes start in September for our usual Autumn and Christmas Sessions.
 

 

We Love Our Floral Design Students

We have a wide variety of students who attend and have attended our classes during the past 12 years. We have held the sessions in Kingskerswell and other venues in Newton Abbot and the surrounding area.

Some of the students -

• are those who have an interest in the subject and would like to learn more-

• some students may want an introduction to the subject as a career move before they make the commitment of enrolling on longer Floral Design courses.

• some are those who have attended previous classes for a number of years, who want to continue their learning and gain new inspiration within a friendly atmosphere-

• some are intending to help make up wedding flowers for a family member or friend and want to gain a little more confidence-

• some have previously studied or have past flower arranging/floristry experience who want to 'refresh' their interest and skills in the subject-

• some are church flower arrangers who like to meet at the session along with friends and design something special for themselves to take home-

• some are wedding planners who want to learn the basics of floral design just in case they need to help prepare floral décor for a wedding or fix a 'floral related problem' during a wedding-
